It was founded in 1996 by Jay S. Walker as Priceline.com and changed its name to Booking Holdings in 2018. It operates websites in about 40 languages and 200 countries and derives most of its revenues from commissions. In 2022, it had a revenue of US$ 17.09 billion and a net income of US$ 3.058 billion1. It has about 21,600 employees and is ranked 340th on the Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by revenue.
