Yahoo was founded in 1994 by Jerry Yang and David Filo, graduate students at Stanford University in California. Yahoo’s services include a search engine, an email service, a directory, a news branch, a finance portal, a sports site and a social media platform. Yahoo was acquired by Verizon Communications in 2017.
